After more than ten years of selling, drinking and reading about wine, I have decided to take the plunge and actually learn how to MAKE wine! I will attempt to document this process during harvest of 2009 in the Napa Valley. I expect to get my butt kicked and work hard and learn lots. This will all take place at a small, premium production winery on Spring Mountain that makes about 2000 cases of their own and is a custom crush facility for up to about 6 or so other small production wineries so I am certain that I will have the opportunity to see lots of cool things.
